We have always prided ourselves on offering the highest levels of service at Hartley Dental and are always looking for ways to improve our patients experience with us.We cannot deny that technology has revolutionised the way we live our lives. Over the last 10 years, this change has accelerated dramatically. We essentially have two options:
- Embrace it.
- Ignore it.
Here at Hartley, we don’t think number 2 is really an option at all…
Why do we embrace technology at Hartley Dental?
Well, there are a few reasons…Charlie likes technology and is a bit of an ‘early adopter’ in that sense. He likes to keep up to speed with the latest technological developments & realise their benefits as early as possible. He’s the boss – so the team follow his lead!We believe, the technology we have implemented (more on that in a moment…) makes life more convenient for our patients. We recognise that convenience is the number 1 priority for everyone in our busy world…It frees up time for the team, away from printing documents, stuffing envelopes and spending so much time on the telephone. This in turn allows them to focus more closely on interacting with our patients face to face, prompt communications and being available when really needed for emergency calls.We cannot hide from the fact that printing documents is bad for the environment. Reducing the amount of paper and printer ink we use is a real priority for us. Embracing cloud-based technology to reduce that burden is a real positive for us!
What technology do we use and how does it affect you?
We use a whole host of technology, including digital X-Rays and the latest dental equipment. However, the two pieces of technology that we embrace, which really benefit our patients are:
- The patient portal.
- Virtual consultation tool for new patients.
The patient portal is a fantastic innovation and offers our patients a whole host of convenient options. These include being able to book your appointments without calling or emailing us, making payments, viewing your treatment history and complete your medical history in a paperless manner. The complementary virtual consultation tool (primarily) for new patients, brings great benefits. It allows you to paperlessly let us know your wants & desires from your potential treatments, at your own pace. It also asks you to take some photos of your teeth and gums, with a easy to follow guide attached. This allows Charlie to be ‘one step ahead of the game’ when you come to the Practice. He will also complete a video consultation with you before you come in, to ensure you know who he is and take you through some potential options.
